Perception can be created unconsciously, for example our unconscious learning during our early childhood like when Infants learned new things through imitating behaviors and the actions of people around them. This show the surrounding social environment have large impact on infants, especially from their parents.
When comparing Chinese parents and Caucasian parents, we can find differences in typical parenting. For example, In Chinese culture, parents try their best in raising their children. Chinese parents worried for their children most of the time, like when their children cry, they will quickly attend to their children and hold them in arms. Even when their children grow up, Chinese parents still prefer their children to stay with them. But this is different with Caucasian parents.
When it comes to a Caucasian parents they are different from a typical Chinese parents. For example, most American parents regards children crying as a normal thing, so there is no need to worry too much. It's very common for Caucasian parents to train their children to be independent from an early age. When their children grow up, children will mostly separate with their parents.
In comparison of the two different parenting environment, it shows that there are large effect on the children actions and perceiving. When children one day become parents themselves, they will tend to unconsciously teach their children the same way they were brought up by their own parents.
On the other hand, Social environment like culture, history, religion, national identity etc can also have an effect on perception, such as from our taste of food or the way we dress.
In conclusion, people living in different countries, with different languages, and different viewpoint in society are influenced by the different cultures surrounding them. This show that people brought up in a different environment can perceive the world differently. So culture and society can affect perception.
